Summer in Pakistan signals mango season, a time when the country, ranked among the top global mango producers, proudly presents its prized Chaunsa variety. Known for its rich aroma, sweet flavor, and juicy pulp, Chaunsa mangoes—also known as Chausa—are native to Multan and Rahim Yar Khan.
From June to late September, Pakistan exports significant quantities of Chaunsa mangoes to Europe, the Middle East, Canada, and the USA. These mangoes typically range from greenish-yellow to golden-yellow in color and are prized for their nearly fiberless flesh and delightful sweetness.
As they ripen, Chaunsa mangoes soften, developing a deeper pale yellow hue with slight wrinkles. The peak season for enjoying Chaunsa mangoes is from early July through August.
Varieties such as White Chaunsa, known for its fine texture and light yellow appearance, and Black Chaunsa, with its sea green skin and sweet taste fully matured by August, offer diverse options for mango lovers.
